Sunday, Feb 23, 1936 Mrs. M. J. Overstreet, Long Resident, Dies Funeral services for Mrs. Mitchell J. Overstreet, 76, resident of Dallas sixty years, who died Friday night at her home, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Guardian Funeral Home. Dr. Humphrey Lee, pastor of the Highland Park Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be G. H. Manscill, D.E. Taylor, Earl Freeman, Ted Freeman, A.G. Phillbrick and J.R. Hughes. Mrs. (Mary Elizabeth Carnes) Overstreet was a native of Comanche County. Surviving are her husband; a son, Harry C. Overstreet, Employee of The Dallas News, and Mrs. Reese T. Freeman of Dallas; Mrs. Mittie Gaston, Houston, and Mrs George Barofsky, Oakley, Kan.; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild; four sisters, Mrs. J.R. Green and Mrs. E. Wines, Fort Worth, Mrs. Dolly Brown, Houston, and Mrs. Nellie Patton, Blue Grove; five brothers, Dow Carnes, Wilmington, Calif.; Hobart, Hardy and Ed Carnes, Houston, and Par Carnes, Blue Grove.
