Mrs. Arthur Mae Jones, age 90, died Friday, May 29, 2009, at St. Joseph Candler Hospital after a short illness. She was a native of Laurens County and a member of Hutchinson Longstreet Church, where she served as the mother of the church for over 50 years. She was a retired homemaker and foster parent of 28 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Sue Collins-Jones and Mary Jones, both of Brooklet, Ga.; six sons, Robert A. Jones of Jacksonville, Fla., Roy L. Jones of Hinesville, Ga., Russell Jones, of Golden Colo., Charles Jones of Augusta, Ga., Johnnie R. Jones of Statesboro and Edward L. Jones of Brooklet, Ga.; one sister, Geneva Yopp of Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Leroy Josey and Calvin W. O'Neil, both of Dublin, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Mrs. Arthur Mae Jones will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Hutchinson Longstreet Baptist Church. The Rev. Arthur Kelly, officiating. Burial: Cone Cemetery.
