Richard W. Snell, of 163 Woodland Ave., a semi-retired building contractor, died Wednesday evening at York Hospital, at age 60. He was the husband of Kathryn Nellie Mundy Snell.

Mr. Snell was born in Manchester Twp., the son of Lydia (Krout) Snell and the late Arthur Elmer Snell. He was a member of the Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church, of the Pennsylvanis Horse Breeders Association and of the Jockey Club.

Mr. Snell is survived by five daughters, Jane Carol Grove, Virginia; Linda Maske 550 Woodland View Drive; Donna Rae Hilligans, 74 Lightner Road; Cathy Marie Newcomer, York; and Vicki Lynn Flury, Texas; two sons, Richard Lee Snell, Strinestown; and Orville Eugene Snell, York; 17 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria M. Overmiller, 1880 N. Beaver St. and Betty Mosebrook, 98 Taft Ave.; four brothers, Raymond Snell, 124 Jasper ave; Clair W. Snell. York RD4; Robert E. Snell, 159 Woodland Ave. and Martin H. Snell, 135 Woodland Ave, and a step-brother Steven A. Snell, 2705 Thronbridge Rd.

Mr. Snell's pastor, the Rev. Carl B. Halverson, of Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church, conducted the funeral service.
