Verna was married to Earl Hicks King from 7 December 1913 to 1916 in Hutchinson, KS - from this union born a daughter:
Theo Ellen King b. 26 October 1914
Theo Ellen was put up for adoption 5 July 1916 and adopted by: Clara Daenzer Grider.
Verna and Earl King divorced and Earl went off to WW1
Later Verna married a man named Raymond F. Abbott and lived in Hutchinson, KS until they moved to California in 1934 per her death certificate.
We have Verna's death certificate (and the marriage certificate to Earl King as well as Theo Ellen's adoption papers).
At this time we do not know what happened to R.F. Abbott. Not for certain that the R stands for Raymond or not but Verna and R.F. had two daughters per census records and now a letter we have uncovered from Verna's older brother, Carl Cassel Diehl's collection, provided by his granddaughter.
