She and Matt were the parents of nine children: Delliah, Joseph Emanuel, Mary Magdalene "Dovie", Ida Louella, Columbus Elbethel, William Floyd, Memphis, George Burton, and James Gordon.
Almost all of the children lived their lives in and around Fannin County except George who moved to California, and Joseph who moved to Etowah, Tennessee in the 1920s. In the photo Margaret is holding their daughter Delliah.
Margaret's husband Matt died of typhoid fever on June 29, 1898, and is buried in the Old Wilscot Church of Christ Cemetery where they lived on the banks of the Toccoa River.
