Lawrence Doyon Foix was born Dec. 4, 1900, in Doyon, N.D. He was raised and educated in Montana and attended electrician school in Los Angeles, California. He married Isabel C. Welte, July 23, 1928 in Los Angeles. They lived in Devon, Montana, where they farmed until 1936, when they moved to Hingham, Montana, where they owned and operated a wheat farm. He retired in 1967 and they moved to Boise in 1979.

Lawrence was a member, a deacon, and on the Council of the Hingham Lutheran Church. He was a member and past noble grand of the Hingham Odd Fellows. He served on the school board of District 24 for many years and served on the Board of Directors of the Hingham Elevator.

Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Bert (Ellen) Edwards of Boise, and Mrs. Robert (Marian) Sherwin of Orlando, Florida; six sisters, Mrs. Lillie Johansen of Shelby, Mont.; Mrs. Mamie Johansen of Shelby, Mont.; Mrs. Delta Kencaid of Sunburst, Mont.; Mrs. Effie Ervin of Auborn, Wash.; Mrs. Russell (Audrey) Taft of Tucson, Ariz.; and Vivia Foix of Los Angeles, Calif.; six grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by one brother, 2 sisters, and a granddaughter.
