A 72-year-old Malone area man became Fond du Lac County's 23rd fatality of 1979 Monday when he died of injuries received after being struck by a vehicle while walking across Highway 151 south of Pipe.
The victim, according to the Fond du Lac County Coroner's office, was Ambrose J. Langenfeld of Route 1, Malone. The accident occurred at the Winnebago Heights Road intersection in the Town of Calumet at about 6:10 p.m.
Fond du Lac County traffic police reported that Langenfeld was crossing Highway 151 from east to west returning to his vehicle from his mailbox when he was struck by a southbound vehicle operated by Gregory M. Halfman, 61, of 206 Lane Drive, Route 1, Malone.
