Susan L. Jackson was the tenth of sixteen children who was born to Rev. William R. and Mahala (Cooper) Jackson, my double great-great-great-grandparents. Her name in her father's Bible record is spelled as "Susanah." Her dates of birth and death on her headstone agree with the Bible record. My great-great-uncle Wade Jackson (1911-1997) told me that the Jackson-Lyles Cemetery in Solomon Hollow where his grandparents, Rev. William R. and Mahala, are buried, was originally a garden spot (William R. lived behind the cemetery as did his son Staples). This fact would account for the burial of Susanah, her brother Lindsay, and her oldest sister Mary (Jackson) Jones in the Hicks Cemetery.
