"Mrs. Evelyn Schlegel, 33, died of an accidentally inflicted gunshot wound at her home in New Bedford, Pa., at 6:30 p. m. Wednesday. Mrs. Schlegel was born in Youngstown July 17th, 1912, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy McCartney, and most of her life was spent in this vicinity. She was married Nov. 27, 1930 to William Schlegel, who survives along with a daughter, Kay, and two sons, William Jr. and Donald. She also leaves her parents, four sisters, Mrs. Leonard Hult of Lockport, Ill., Mrs. Chester Schlegel, Mrs. Arthur Hult and Miss Joyce McCartney, all of Canfield; three brothers, Ellis of Orlando, Florida, Arliss S. 1/c, home on furlough from the Navy and Richard of Canfield. Private funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Williams Funeral Home, where friends may call Friday evening."
