Mary Leishman Cullinan Bennett, 93, of 862 Gladys Road, Gladys died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at her home. She was the wife of the late George William Bennett, Sr.
She was born August 3, 1917 in Rockland, Massachusetts a daughter of the late Michael Lawrence Cullinan and Bessie Collins Cullinan. She was a motel owner, always worked with her husband on the farm and in the motel and enjoyed fishing.
She is survived by two sons, George William Bennett, Jr. and his wife Judy and Ralph Charles Bennett and his wife Mary; and one daughter, Dorothy Louise Bennett, all of Gladys; four grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons, John and Charles Bennett; one great grandson, Cpl. Christopher Edward Murphy and three brothers and two sisters.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Gentle Shepherd Hospice who guided them through this difficult time, to Team Nursing and Campbell County Social Services who cared for Mary with love and compassion.
In lieu of any services the family will receive friends from 1-4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 23, 2011 at the residence.
In keeping with Mary's wishes her body was cremated.
