LILLIAN CAPTOLIA "CAPPIE" VANHOOK CURTIS, age 92, Cynthiana, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Cedar Ridge Health Campus. Born in Harrison County, March 12, 1918, to the late Clarence and Elizabeth Dennis VanHook, she was a retired nurse's assistant from Harrison Memorial Hospital and Edgemont Healthcare and was an employee of Bluegrass Army Depot during WWII. Mrs. Curtis was a member of the Cynthiana Christian Church, Buena Vista Homemakers, Cynthiana Country Club, Ladies Golf Association, American Legion Auxiliary and Daughters of American Revolution. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore "Bud" Curtis; four sisters, Helen VanHook, Laura Dixon, Margaret Hayden and Beulah Powers and two brothers, Sam VanHook and Bobby VanHook.

She is survived by a son, Teddy (Karen) Curtis, Sunset, South Carolina; a daughter, Connie Rensema, Scott County; a sister, Juanita Nichols, Florida and four grandchildren, Derek (Joy) Curtis, Bowling Green, Kimberly Curtis, Nicholasville, Bryan (Claire) Rensema, Corvallis, Oregon and Brandon Linder, Osaka, Japan and five great grandchildren, Aurelia Rensema, Nathan Davis, Dalton Curtis, Eli Oshatz and Dakota Curtis.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Ware Funeral Home by Dr. Larry Bishop. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery.
