NEWPORT NEWS - Nancy Gooch Buckingham, 78, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, at Warwick Gardens, Newport News.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, George; daughter, Susan Dorner and husband, David; son, Thomas and wife, Saundra; and daughter, Linda Morrison and husband, Sandy. She is also survived by three grandsons, Jonathan Dorner, Christopher Dorner, and Adam Morrison, who were the joys of her life.
Nancy's life was centered around her family, her work, and her church. She retired from Hampton City schools after 25 years of service. She was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church for more than 50 years.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton. A Celebration of Nancy's life will be held at Liberty Baptist Church in Hampton 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.
