At the age of 80 or earlier, David sold his land holdings in Oakfield (Caryville), NY and removed to the Caledonia Twp., Kent, MI area from upstate NY to be near his adult children after his wife Olive died in 1865 in NY state. He purchased land in Kent Co. after his arrival in MI.
He lived, at the age of 85 (1870 Census), with his daughter Maria Jane Sears and her husband Horace Sears and their family (which also included Eveline B., David's spinster daughter, and Chauncey Sears, Horace's 81 year old father) and their three children, Levant, 17, William, 12, and Addie, 10 in Alto, Kent Co., MI. David died in Cascade Twp., Kent Co., MI at the age of 91 in 1876, probably living then with another daughter, Mary (Warner) Fairchild. He is buried in his daughter, Mary, and son-in-law Rev. John Fairchild's burial plot in the Alaska Cemetery, Alaska, Kent, MI.
He probably also stayed with his daughter Amanda Donnelly in Mason, Ingham, MI for a period of time. Amanda and her husband were owners of the "Donnelly Hotel/House" there.

It was only sparsely settled in the early 1800's but grew rapidly. Unknown when they moved to MI, but at least by 1863. Lewis and family moved to a number of different MI counties beginning with Coldwater, Branch, MI.

10. Amanda W. Warner (1825-1900) married Henry J. Donnelly. Settled in Napoleon, Jackson, MI in perhaps 1856. Both buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason, Ingham, MI. Obit here for her and him. He came to MI in about 1847.

11. Cordelia Warner married 3 times: Bailes-Dennison-Slawson (1828-1913); children with each marriage. Came to MI at least by 1864, settled in Caledonia, Kent Co., MI. Buried in Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville, Montcalm, MI with 3rd husband.

12. Mabelia Warner (1830-1866) married William N. Barton. Moved from upstate NY to Branch Co., MI by 1860.
Buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Coldwater, Branch, MI. His death unknown.

David served in the War of 1812 and the Mexican-American War.
While he and his family lived in Oakfield (Caryville), Genesee, NY, he donated a parcel of land and built the first log-house school on Lewiston Road. He owned no less than 90 acres there. See land map.*
At the age of 80 or earlier, David sold his land holdings in Oakfield (Caryville), NY and removed to the Caledonia Twp., Kent, MI area from upstate NY to be near his adult children after his wife Olive died in 1865 in NY state. He purchased land in Kent Co. after his arrival in MI.
He lived, at the age of 85 (1870 Census), with his daughter Maria Jane Sears and her husband Horace Sears and their family (which also included Eveline B., David's spinster daughter, and Chauncey Sears, Horace's 81 year old father) and their three children, Levant, 17, William, 12, and Addie, 10 in Alto, Kent Co., MI. David died in Cascade Twp., Kent Co., MI at the age of 91 in 1876, probably living then with another daughter, Mary (Warner) Fairchild. He is buried in his daughter, Mary, and son-in-law Rev. John Fairchild's burial plot in the Alaska Cemetery, Alaska, Kent, MI.
He probably also stayed with his daughter Amanda Donnelly in Mason, Ingham, MI for a period of time. Amanda and her husband were owners of the "Donnelly Hotel/House" there.

WARNER Lineage: David-6 Calvin Warner Jr., David-5 Calvin Warner Sr., Jesse-4 Warner Sr., Samuel-3 Warner Sr., Daniel-2 Warner Sr., Andrew-1 WARNER Sr., an Englishman who set sail with his wife and several children on the ship "Lyon" from Bristol, England on 8/23/1631 and landed 11/2/1631 at Nantasket, MA; and later completed the journey on 1/7/1632-33 to the newly established (1630) Massachusetts Bay Colony.

In 1772 Tryon County was created. It covered the western and central part of New York State. In 1783, after the American Revolution, Tyron was renamed Montgomery County. In 1789 Ontario County was created from part of Montgomery County. In 1802 Genesee County took over the land west of the Genesee River.
Orleans County was created from Genesee County on April 15, 1825. Orleans County is 23 miles across from east to west and 16 1/2 miles from north to south. It was only sparsely settled in the early 1800's but grew rapidly. Orleans County is bordered by Lake Ontario to the north, Monroe County to the east, Genesee County to the south and Niagara County to the west.
