John Register Altman, 92, a retired merchant and lumber inspector, died Thursday (May 30, 1985) in a Florence hospital.
The funeral will be at 5 p.m. today in Olanta Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Floyd Funeral Home, will be in Thomas Cemetery.
Mr. Altman was born in Williamsburg County, a son of Willie L. Altman and Cornelia Gertrude Altman.
He was a Mason and a member of Mount Hope Masonic Lodge. He was a member of St. Stephen's Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Gertrude Cole of Olanta; a stepson, George W. Gilbert of Valdosta, Ga.; a brother, J. D. Altman of Scranton; and a sister, Pearl Brown of Kingstree.
