The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pine Crest Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Interment, directed by Mayer Funeral Home, will be in Suttons United Methodist Churchyard.
Mr. Altman, a son of the late Willie Lee Altman and Mrs. Cornelia Gertrude "Neelie" Alsbrook Altman, was born in the Suttons community.
He retired from Seaboard Coastline Railroad after 30 years as a machinest.
Survivors are: his widow, Mrs. Milbe Pelt Altman of Andrews; three sons, Willie Lee Altman of Kingstree, Sanders O'Neil Altman of Chapin, and Harold Douglas Altman of Andrews; three daughters, Mrs Linnie Mae A. McCutcheon of Kingstree, Mrs. Thelma A. Ward and Mrs. Janice A. Young, both of Andrews; two brothers, John Register Altman of St. Stephen, and James Derrick Altman of Scranton; two sisters, Mrs. Willie Pearl A. Brown of Kingstree and Mrs. Olive A. Small of Suttons; 32 grandchildren: and 30 great-grandchildren.
