Dene (Modenia) Earle Fite, born March 11, 1916 in Plainview, Texas, died October 5, 2010, peacefully at her home in Glen Rose, Texas from age related illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Fite, her parents, six sisters, two brothers and one grandson.

She is survived by her children, Kay (Stan) Myers of Glen Rose, Jan (Doug) Miller of Kemp, Carl (Sheila) of New Braunfels, Jim (Petey) of Dallas, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Dene's greatest gift was her love and friendship she extended to everyone she met, maintaining regular contact with friends and loved ones across the state, the nation and the whole world.

Her "phone book" was legendary! She was the perfect example of a "Texas Lady" to all who knew and loved her. Her home was always open, her table always welcoming.

The family extends special thanks to her faithful caregivers and to Covenant Hospice.
