Obituary for Francis Lavern Swift:

Daily Democrat, Clinton MO - Francis Lavern Swift, Route 1, Clinton, passed away at his home February 15, 1992, after a two-year battle with cancer. Lavern was born March 25, 1923 in the McFall, Missouri area, the son of Lee and Myrtle Hunsucker Swift. He graduated from Hatfield, Mo. high school in 1942, going right into the service, serving three years in World War II. He was employed at State Hospitals for forty years. Most of that time at St. Joseph, Mo. He belonged to Post 11 Legion in St. Joseph. In 1986, he retired and moved to a farm north of Clinton. He was a member of the Church of God in Urich. Lavern was always thinking of others, even during his illness. He is survived by his wife Phyllis of the home and one sister, Louise Conrad of Clinton, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Irene Vincent and Inez Case; and one brother, Lee Franklin Swift. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 18, 1992, at Consalus Chapel, Clinton. Burial was in Clinton Memory Gardens.
