David E. Johnston in A History of The Middle New River Settlements... states that Agnes (no maiden name) was his first wife and Mary (no maiden name) was his second.

He states Mary appears as his wife on a deed in 1758, "the names of three of the sons were, Solomon, Edward and Moses"
