Carlos Noverto Ortega

Noverto Ortega, 76, died January 18, 1992 in Murray, Utah.

Born July 24, 1915 in Trinidad, Colorado to Manuel and Genovieva Martinez Ortega. Married Ida L. Valdez in Monte Vista, Colorado on April 3, 1937.

He was a ranch hand in Woodruff, Utah for six years. Moved to Alamo, Calif., in 1957. Came back to live in Midvale two years ago. Loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting, and always talked about the one who got away. Retired in 1980 from Varian Aerograph after 15 years. Raised six lovely children. He gave us a perfect example of the most honest man on this earth, and it is his work ethic that even his grandchildren follow.

Survived by his wife, Ida; children, Michael Valdez, Herman Ortega, Carmen Anderson Manuel Ortega, Phillip Vigil; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous brothers and sisters. Preceded in death by children Orlando, Jose Orlando and Phyllis Maria.

Funeral services Wednesday, January 22, 1992, 1 p.m. in the Midvale 8th Ward Chapel, 642 Jackson. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Tuesday 6-8 p.m., and at the church Wednesday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.
