DEER CREEK (Special) - Myron (Minie) Persons died Sunday in the Thiel Hospital at Bertha. He was taken there Friday with a heart ailment.
Born in Iowa May 11, 1881, he was 71 years of age. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. John Persons, pioneer residents of Oak Valley. The Persons farm w as what is known as the Island school community. Mr. Persons had lived in Oak Valley more than 30 years. He was married to Carrie Townley of Woodside and eight children were born to them.
Mrs. Persons was a sister of A.C. Townley, formerly head of the Non-Partisan League of 250,000 farmers. He was supposed to be in the neighborhood of Fargo but efforts to contact him had not been successful up to this forenoon.
Mr. Persons was a man of quiet, unassuming disposition, and enjoyed his family. He and Mrs. Persons were always together.
Surviving are his wife and eight children: four sons and four daughters . The sons are Dorman of Hibbing, Aaron of Deer Creek, Oscar of Hewitt and Eugene of Bigfork. Daughters are Mrs. Chester Hennagir (Ruthie) of Parkers Prairie; Mrs. Thomas Hennagir (Ivis) of Bigfork; Mrs. Austin Krenz (Lillian) of Bertha and Mrs. Robert Wendorf (Bonita) of southern Minnesota. One brother Ed is in the state of Washington. His two sisters, Mrs. Mary Chase of Canada and Mrs. Annie Martin of Hewitt, are well known in Deer Creek.
The funeral will be Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 PM at the Domian Memorial Home in Bertha, with burial in the Oak Valley Cemetery.
