Thomas Neal Carringer, age 82 of Brasstown, North Carolina, passed away Thursday morning, December 16, 2010 at Murphy Medical Center following a period of declining health. He was born in Graham County, NC April 5, 1928 to the late Tom and Kitty Jenkins Carringer. Mr. Carringer attended Shiloh Baptist Church; enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. He had retired from Magnavox, later Baker, Furniture in Andrews, NC.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Jack Carringer, Bruce Carringer, and sisters Ada Carringer Crisp and Alda Doris Carringer Byers.

Survivors include his wife, Louzelle McCray Carringer; His daughter Eunavee Carringer Mease and her husband, Larry. He is also survived by his brothers Edgar, T.C., Ted, and one sister, Jean Carringer Shelton; his granddaughters: Bunny Mease Williams and her husband Robby; Leah Mease Henderson and her husband Casey; great-grandchildren include Amber and Alicia Williams, Emily Williams, and Cannon Henderson.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 2 pm from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Peachtree with Revs. Aud Brown, Dallas Crowder, and Clark Moss officiating. Music was provided by Geneva Crowder and Diane Russell.

Interment followed the service in the Ogden Methodist Church cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews: Perry Carringer, Tommy, Ronnie, and Jerry Byers, Pat Shelton, and Bruce Black. Honorary pallbearers were David, Bug, and Bass Hyatt, Lonnie Marcus, and Jack Hogan.

Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy was in charge of arrangements.

In our Carringer family tree, he is my beloved Uncle. Uncle Neal and my father were very close.
