Jesse Sexton Dies in Oregon
Funeral services for Jesse Free Sexton, 60, of Lyle, Wash., formerly of Gravity, were held March 9 at The Dalles, Oregon. Mr. Sexton died at his home in Lyle March 5, 1967. Interment was at The Dalles, Ore.
Jesse Free Sexton, son of Nathan Isaac and Elsie Mae [Laird] Sexton, was born August 7, 1906 at Gravity, Iowa.
On Feb. 21, 1934, he was united in marriage to Edith Marsh Green at Seneca, Kansas. To this union four children were born.

He lived in Iowa until 1948, when he moved to the state of Washington. For the last 15 years he has lived at Lyle and was employed by the Seattle, Portland and Spokane Railway Co.

Mr. Sexton is survived by his wife Edith (Marshie); sons, Richard of Renton, Wash., Allen [Roy] of the U. S. Armed Forces, Vietnam, Gary of Lyle; daughter, Judith Thomas of Yakima; three grandchildren survive: Michael Thomas of Yakima, and Catherine and Scott Sexton of Renton.

He has three brothers, Francis [Leroy] of Wishram, [Lewis] Virgil of Bedford and [Nathan] Carl of Lenox; and sisters, Hazel Green of Cooks, Wash., Gladys O'Neal of Provo, Utah, Beulah Downey and Lorna Hardisty of Corning, Ia.; also a number of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends will cherish his memory
He possessed a generous amount of the ordinary and common virtues of life that made him beloved by all who knew him, but his love and devotion to this wife and family endeared him in their hearts forever.

Those attending from here were Virgil Sexton, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sexton from Lenox and Mrs. James Hardisty of Corning.
