Mrs. Shank had been in failing health for more than three years. Her condition, however, did not become critical until eight weeks ago when she was forced to take her bed. Since that time she grew steadily weaker until the end.
Funeral services were held this morning at eleven o'clock from the Pleasant View Mennonite church near Dayton. Services were conducted by her pastor, the Rev. J. D. Wenger. Interment was in the church cemetery nearby.
Mrs. Shank was a daughter of J. H. Berry and the late Mrs. Maggie Berry. She was born on Aug. 21, 1890, at Goods Mill and spent her early youth in that community She later lived near Harrisonburg and then moved to near Dayton.
She was a member of the Mennonite church and always took an active part in all church affairs until her health failed her.
Besides her husband and father the latter making her home with the Shanks, she is survived by three daughters Misses Ruth, Alma and Grace, five sons Cecil, Owen, Warren, Nelson and Hensel, all at home; two brothers, Oscar Berry of Harrisonburg, Isaac Berry of Harrisonburg, Isaac Berry, of Pleasant Valley, and five sisters, Mrs. E. M. Shank, of Mt. Crawford, Mrs. Isaac Heatwole, of near Dayton, Mrs. Hober Hurst and Miss Lena Berry, of Ohio, and Miss Margaret Berry, of Harrisonburg.
