John H. Berry [Beery], aged 79, died at the home of his son-in-law, Amos Shank, near Dayton yesterday after an illness of three months.

Having been born in this same section, Mr. Berry spent most of his life in this county. He was a son of Solomon and Annie Berry [Beery].

His wife. And three of his children preceded him in death some years ago. Surviving now are the following children: Mrs. Beulah Shank, of Mt. Crawford: Oscar Berry [Beery] of Harrisonburg; Mrs. Mae Heatwole, of Dayton and Mrs. Zenna Horst of Dalton. Ohio; Isaac Berry [Beery] of Harrisonburg, and Mrs. Lena Eberly, of Daton, Ohio. Twenty-four grandchildren also survive, as well as four great grandchildren.

Mr. Berry's [Beery's] death came as sorrowful news to his many friends, who knew him as a good neighbor, and a man of Christian character.

He had been a faithful member of the Mennonite church for many years.

Funeral services will be held in the Pleasant View Mennonite Church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock.
