Obituary - Janice Remington Bassett, 78, passed away on Sunday, January 23rd in Salt Lake City, Utah with her family around her. Born in Parker, Idaho to Burdette Remington and Martha Hanks Remington. She married her high school sweetheart Richard Jay Bassett, 59 years ago.

She devoted her life to her family, working tirelessly to keep together each generation. Janice was warm, fun, and feisty, ready to party at the drop of a hat. She did hard things with a smile.

As a faithful LDS church member she served with joy in many callings including temple matron of the Dallas Texas Temple. She loved her association with the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

She joins her husband and is survived by her seven children, Jann (Emery) Powell, Jill (Kyle) Franklin, Curtis, Bret (Wendy), Bruce (Jeanmarie), Elizabeth (Kent) Applegate, and Sidney (Stephanie), 28 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Mae Archibald, Mardette Allen, and Ralph Remington.

There will be a viewing Thursday, January 27th at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 1007 W South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 28th at 11 a.m. at the Jordan River Temple Chapel, 10200 South 1300 West, South Jordan. Friends may call from 9:45-10:45.
