When the new Lake Waco Dam was built and the lake was expanded, it was necessary to move several cemeteries. Speegleville Cemetery was one of the cemeteries moved. All of the people who were interred at Speegleville Cemetery were moved to Chapel Hill Cemetery, Waco, Texas.
