Miguel A. Montoya, 84, died October 23, 1993 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born October 12, 1909 in Los Sauces, Colorado to Felix and Pablita Gonzales Montoya. Married Ernestina "Tina" Meastas in San Pedro, Calif. on February 5, 1943. His beloved wife preceded him in death on October 8, 1969.
He acted as Chief of Police in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico; and followed middleweight professional boxing, holding the New Mexico title for three years. Served in World War II in the U.S. Army as an M.P.
He was a very loving, gentle and kind-hearted man to everyone who knew him, and loved by all.
Survived by son and daughters, Mrs. Gary (Dolores) Ostlund, Mrs. Larry (Connie) Lucero, Margine Montoya and Mitch Ashcraft, Michael (Kris) Montoya; 10 grandchildren; three and one-half great-grandchildren; sister, Eutilia Greigo, Pueblo, Colo.; brother, Tom Sanchez, Espanola, New Mexico; in-laws, Tony Roderiquez, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Blea, Mrs. Mary Naranjo, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Roybal, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Meastas, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Meastas; two special goddaughters, Mrs. John (Mary Lou) Goodman, Mrs. Javier (Teresa) Meza; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October 27, 1993, at 10 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 75 East Lennox. Friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State, where a vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
