George Baker Belford and Mary Sims were married October 3, 1858, in Vinton Co., Ohio. He was a farmer.

Their known children: Delilah Jane Belford, b. 1860, and George Baker Belford, b. 1863.

George was a casualty of the Civil War, Co F, 114th Infantry, March 20, 1863. His death occurred onboard the Steamer City of Memphis, which was used as transport for wounded soldiers.

The photo posted on this memorial page is a news report published in The Ohio Statesman on March 25, 1863, pg. 3, col. 1. Though it states "G.W. Belford" as the soldier, they have correctly identified his regiment, the 114th.
