Donna Jean Hart Avants was born on April 3, 1933, in Blackburn, to Orville Hart and Catherine Durnberger Hart. She passed from this life on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at her home in Pawnee, having reached the age of 76 years, 1 month and 23 days.She married Ernest C. Avants on Sept. 29, 1950, in Blackburn, and preceded in death Nov. 12, 1995. They moved to Pawnee from Blackburn in 1950. She loved to crochet and retired from the Pawnee County Department of Human Services in April 1995. Donna is survived by daughter Felicia Fisher and her husband Terry, Pawnee,; son Duane Avants and his girlfriend Tammy Carter, Sherman, Texas; grandchildren, Montana Cummings, Pawnee, Candace Brown and her husband, J.R.,Cameron Cummins,San Francisco, Calif.and Kristin Avants-Baker, Denison, Texas; sister Neva Madill and her husband,Wayne,Wichita, Kan.; plus numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.Besides her husband Ernest, she was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Catherine Hart; and two brothers Wilfred Hart and Wayne Hart.Services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church, Pawnee, with the Rev Tom Scott officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home.Memories may be made to Sojourn Care, 9910 E 42nd Street South, Tulsa, Okla. 74146
