Carolyn J. Reed, 68, of Huntington, died at 3:55 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Reed, along with her late husband, Ralph, was the owner of Sonshine Health Center on the Huntington Mall since 1984. She was a 1958 graduate of Jefferson Township High School in Mexico, Indiana. She was a member of Life Church in Huntington.
Mrs. Reed was born February 24, 1940 in Peru, Indiana, a daughter of Raymond E. and Margaret A. (Burkett) Snyder. She was united in marriage to Ralph H. Reed on August 20, 1972 in Mexico, Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2007.
Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Jeff (Cindy) Phillips; three sons, Bryan (Dee) Reed of Peru, Indiana, Bradley (Theresa) Reed of Huntington, and Randall (Donna) Reed of Huntington; one sister, Shirley Griffin of Kearney, MO; one brother, Norman L. (Dorothy) Snyder of Warsaw, IN; seven grandchildren, Ryan Reed, Travis Reed, Andrea Kochensparger, Anna Kochensparger, Macy Phillips, Madison Phillips and Montana Phillips. She was preceded in death by one sister, Judith E. Snyder and one brother, Ronald R. Snyder.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM and from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel with Pastor Mike Hill officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in Huntington.
