In 1910 he and his parents, his paternal grandmother, and a cousin of one of his parents, 24-year-old farm laborer Henry C Rine, lived on a farm they owned, mortgage free, in Pike Township, Coshocton County, OH.

In 1920 he and his parents and a hired hand, 23-year-old Perry Rine, lived on probably the same farm on Ashcraft Ridge Road.

In 1930 he and his wife and his parents lived there. They did have a radio.

In 1940 he and Virginia and their two children lived on a farm they owned in the same township. Their home was valued at $2500. He also worked as a clerk for the township, with an income in 1939 of $300.
