A former resident of Frazeysburg, he passed away at Catered Living at Ocean Pines in Berlin, Maryland.

He was the son of the late Wilbur A. Ashcraft and Virginia F. (Goff) Ashcraft/Ramsey. He graduated from Union High School in 1951. Jim retired after 43 years of service from Ohio Oil Gathering Corporation. He was a member of the Community Bible Church in Frazeysburg and former member of the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church. Jim was a Past Master of Wakatomica Masonic Lodge #108, Past Worthy Patron of Coshocton Chapter #157 Order of Eastern Star. He was also a member of the Coshocton Samaritan Chapter #50 R.A.M., Coshocton Council #110, Coshocton Commandery #63, Teheran Grotto #159 of Newark, 32nd Degree Valley of Cambridge Scottish Rite, Three Rivers Masonic Lodge #799 and the Flint Ridge Explorers Club. He was active as a Fallsburg Township Trustee for over 38 years.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law of Maryland, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, a son-in-law, a sister, nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Wilbur A. and Virginia F. (Goff) Ashcraft Ramsey, by his wife, Judith Ann (Moran) Ashcraft, who died March 23, 2009, and whom he married July 7, 1956, a daughter, Shelley Lynne Albin, a brother, Wilber "Bill" Ashcraft, a sister-in-law, Norma (Cullins) Ashcraft, and step-father, Ross Ramsey.

Friends and family may call Friday, December 8, 2023, 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, Frazeysburg Chapel, 110 W. Third Street, Frazeysburg. Masonic services will be conducted at 4:00pm by Three Rivers Masonic Lodge #799.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11:00 am with Pastor Eric Cooper officiating.
Jim will be laid to rest next to his wife, Judy, at Frazeysburg Cemetery.
