Vicki Jeanne Stapley Porter, 62, passed away unexpectedly January 9, 2008. She was the first baby born in Phoenix, AZ after VJ Day (thus her initials - VJ), on August 15, 1945 to Fred and Doris Garrett Stapley.

Vicki attended Phoenix and Mesa schools and graduated from BYU. She taught school in 1967 at Longfellow Elementary in Mesa. Vicki is survived by her parents; brothers; Thyrle, David and Jack Stapley; her husband Dale Porter of Mesa, daughters, Deanna, Mimi, twins; Darla and Gayla, Tara and Tasha; son, Devan; and 28 grandchildren at last count.

She was a lifelong member of the LDS church, serving in many positions, including 2 missions with her husband. Vicki was a talented, beautiful person, much loved by all. We will miss her greatly.
