Died Wednesday, December 29, 1993 at Bridgewood Care Center in Plainwell, MI. Mr. Lumbard was born August 28, 1916 in Foley, MN, the son of Corodon and Nellie (Reed) Lumbard and had lived in the Kalamazoo area for the past 46 years. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 20 years at the Kalamazoo Nature Center *. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola, and by two brothers, Charles and James Lumbard. Surviving are 6 brothers and 1 sister and their spouses, Myrle and Lucine Lumbard of Baldwin, MI, Clarence and Delores Lumbard of Gun Lake, MI, Lester and Elnora Lumbard of Kalamazoo, Juanita and Fred Shank of Kalamazoo, Daile and Joyce Lumbard of Kalamazoo, Ralph and Jean Lumbard of Harrietta, MI, and Lyle and Donna Lumbard of Kalamazoo; Several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at 1 o'clock Monday at Alamo Cemetery (1 block south of intersection of 6th St. and "D" Ave.) with the Rev. Stephen W. Tucker, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Otsego officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kalamazoo Nature Center or the charity of your choice.
