A son of Andrew and Sarah Mauk Anderson, he was born June 5, 1906, at Frostburg.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Homer City. A retired coal miner, he was a member of the U.M.W.A. Local 488, Lucernemines.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Harshyne Anderson; a son Norman James of Warren, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Twila Troup of Lordstown, Ohio; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David; five brothers: Arthur, William, Andrew, Fred, and Harry; and a sister Laura Smith.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Monday) at the Bowser-Askew Funeral Home, Homer City. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, Homer City. Rev. C. Deiftmeyer will officiate. Interment will follow in the Garden of Prayer, Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
