Lawrence W. Crider, 86, of West Carr Hill Road, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at 3 a.m. at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mr. Crider retired from ATL Truck Lines and was a member of First Baptist Church, Disabled American Veterans and the Teamsters Union. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street, with the Rev. Charles Kennedy officiating. Calling will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to time of service Tuesday. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Lawrence was born in Columbus Oct. 12, 1920, the son of Walter H. and Opal N. Clark Crider. He married Alice L. Bell on Feb. 14, 1943.
Survivors include his wife; children, George L. (Clara) Crider of Peru, Ind., and Jeannie (Larry) Boles, Francis Crider, Mark (Karen) Crider and Charlotte M. (Tim) Spalding, all of Columbus; brothers, James Crider of Utah and Kenneth (Marilyn) Crider of Phoenix; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Mr. Crider was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Donald, Chester and Harold Crider; a sister, Dorothy Deweese; and a son, David Crider.
