'Jap' Haskell was a former football player, coach and Athletic Director at the University of Oklahoma. He served as the head baseball coach at OU from 1927 to 1941. From 1941 to 1947, Haskell served as the Athletic Director. He spent the 1948 season as a scout for the Boston Red Sox.
During the Second World War, Haskell was a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy.
He died of a heart attack at his home in Tulsa.
