Deer Creek (special) - John Clemmer, 81, a resident here for many years, died Sunday at his home in Bemidji. He had suffered a stroke three years ago and never fully recovered. Mr. Clemmer's parents were pioneer residents of Deer Creek living in the home now owned by Harry Johnson. There were four sons, Nels, Horance and Ed and a daughter Mrs. Vina Bitler in the family. John is the last member of his family.
Funeral services will be held Thursday in Bemidji.
Burial will be in in the family lot in Fairview cemetery at Deer Creek.
It is expected the funeral party will reach Deer Creek about 4 pm Thursday.
Note...The family Bible records show another brother Willis who died in Canada in 1945
He was born November 5,1871 at Austin Minnesota. In his youth he resided with his family in North and South Dakota. In 1902 Mr. Clemmer moved from Deer Creek to Bemidji and then Wilton. He went to Buzzle Township in 1904 to homestead. Where he lived until about 15 years ago, upon retirement from farming. Mr. Clemmer then lived in Solway and for the past two years was a resident of Pinewood.
