She was the second wife of Benjamin Emerson [per gravestone inscription], Jr. [born 1778]. Benjamin and Hannah Bancroft of Reading married at South Reading (now Wakefield), Mar. 30, 1819. She died in Wakefield one year after the town officially changed its name from South Reading, aged 78 years & 10 days. Cause of death: osification of the valves of the heart. Her parents were Nathaniel (born in Nova Scotia) & Sarah (born in Malden, Mass.) Bancroft.
