Funeral services for William Horace Hightower, 81, of Cullman, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at Cullman Heritage Chapel, with Rev. John Echols, Bro. Brady Kilgo and Rev. Albert Dean Estes officiating. Interment will be in Duck River Cemetery.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hightower died Thursday, Nov. 23, at his residence. He was born March 10, 1925, to William Cody and Lela Porter Hightower. He was a World War II veteran and was retired from Hayser Roth Industries after 41 years. He had been a member of Unity Baptist Church for 65 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.
Mr. Hightower was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Viola Sticher; and a brother-in-law, Fred Sticher.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Willadean Burks Hightower of Cullman; one son, Greg (Amy) Hightower of Cullman; one granddaughter, Peyton Makenzie Hightower of Cullman; one brother, Harvey James (Fay) Hightower of Cullman; one nephew Edsel (Judy) Sticher of Cullman.
Visitation was held Saturday.
