Funeral services for Riley Albert Bristow, 89, of Gustine will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 1, at the Comanche Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Calcote officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery in Comanche County. Bristow died Wednesday, June 28, at the Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

He was born Aug. 24, 1910, in Fisher County to Henry Bristow and Mary (Schoolcraft) Bristow. He was a serviceman for Southern Union Gas Co. and a member of Pettit Baptist Church. He married Opal Juanita Graham on Jan. 15, 1933, in Rule. She preceded him in death in 1980. He married Lela Ethel Gilbert on Sept. 5, 1981, in Gustine. She preceded him in death in 1991.

Survivors incude three daughters, Margarette and husband Thomas Keough of Comanche, Thirza and husband Dale King of Gustine and Rachel Thorson of Irving; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin Bristow of San Angelo, and one brother-in-law, John Graham.
