Elizabeth was united in marriage on August 23, 1935 to Mr. Harley M. Pennington in Aurora, Illinois, and they spent many years together until be passed away in 1987.
Mrs. Pennington attended the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Aurora, Illinois and was for many years, an active member of its Ruth Circle, and its over 50 club. Elizabeth will also be long remembered as the family historian, who passed on information about the family genealogy. She was employed for many years as the secretary to the treasurer of the Burlington Railroad. Mrs. Pennington was later employed as a secretary at Oak Park School, in Aurora and at Pictorial Packing, where she worked until her retirement.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Brian (Barbara) Pennington, of Aurora; her daughter-in-law, Vicky Pennington, of Aurora; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley M. Pennington; two sons, Richard D. and Walter M. Pennington; two stepsons, Ora O. Parks, Jr. and Robert E. Pennington; one brother, Everett C. Stallmann; and one sister, Ida M. Johnson.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at the Lincoln Memorial Park, in Oswego, IL.
