Mrs. McCleskey, 72, was born in Garner, Texas. Mr. McCleskey, age 69, was a retired fireman with Civil Service. He had also served on the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He was a veteran of World War I, the Masonic Lodge and Shrine. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
Both were members of the Parker Street Church and have resided in Parker and Palo Pinto Counties all of their lives. They had been residing in the Sturdivant community.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Melvin R. Appling of Scotsdale, Arizona; one grandchild; Mrs. McCleskey's brother, Millard Baker of Mesa, Arizona; a brother and sister of Mr. McCleskey, George McCleskey of Lubbock and Bess Turpin of Fort Worth; several nieces and nephews, including Pete McCleskey of Mineral Wells.
The couple was enroute to Scotsdale to visit their daughter when the accident occurred.
Services for Willard Doss who died in the same accident will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Carlock-Minnick Chapel. The Rev. R. B. Shiflet will officiate and burial will be in the Woodland Park Cemetery. ... - obituary
