Nancy Ann (Lord) Duke, 80, went to be with the Lord, Sunday evening, at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born in Elwood, the daughter of Mary Kathryn and James Andrew Lord. Nancy grew up in Hartford City. She moved to the Muncie area and graduated from Royerton High School in 1948.

Nancy graduated from Ball Memorial Hospital School of Practical Nursing in 1962. Her nursing career spanned 38 years. She worked as an L.P.N. in area doctor offices and at the Woodlands Nursing Home for 25 years under the supervision of Hazel Wilson, and retired in 1993 as Charge Nurse. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren; enjoyed knitting and crocheting; working in her flower gardens and the companionship of her two cats, Angel and Tiger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett Gene Duke, Sr.; and one sister, Mary Lou Bowlby.

Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Rd., Muncie, IN 47304. Pastor Todd Owens will be officiating. Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday or one hour prior to the service Thursday at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Animal Rescue Fund (ARF), 1209 W. Riggin Rd., Muncie, IN 47303.
