Heart Attack Causes Death of David E. Clark
David E. Clark, 50, of 315 Ninth street south, died Tuesday morning about 9 in the city jail, less than two hours after he was arrested with Charlie Volk, 35, on open charges by police. Clark was booked under the name of Jake Lynch, 51, and his death was attributed to heart trouble.
Clark and Volk were allegedly in possession of a truck containing property designed for the manufacture of intoxicating liquor. Shortly after being brought to the police station, Clark complained of being ill and a physician was summoned. Clark, however, appeared to have improved. The physician left shortly before 9 and within a few minutes a jail trusty notified officers that Clark was again ill. Upon investigating, officers found Clark dead. Death, according to authorities, was obviously from natural causes.
Clark came to Great Falls from Ray, N. D., about three years ago, and has not been regularly employed. The survivors are a wife and four children.
