Mrs. Fred Silcox Succumbs
at 79; Funeral Saturday

DUNNELL - Mrs. Daisy Silcox,
79, who farmed for more than
50 years in Lake Fremont
township, died yesterday
at Holy Family hospital at
Estherville from pneumonia
and the infirmities of age.
She had been a resident
of an Estherville rest home
since last May.

She was born March 21, 1878
at Jamestown, Grundy County,
Missouri and with her husband,
Fred Austin Silcox, who died
two years ago, were prominent
in local and Lake Fremont circles
until they retired and moved to
Sherburn about eight years ago.

Fred Silcox and Dazy Clark were
married at Estherville December 23,
1896, at the home of the bride's
sister, Mrs. Obdiah Higbee. The
bride's maiden name was Clarke
and her parents lived at Wallingford.

There are two daughters, Mrs.
Milton (Efa Daisy Silcox) Larson
and Mrs. Donald L. (Adelaide
Florence Silcox) MacKaben
of Gerlach, Nevada. There are
three grandchildren Donald and
Kenneth Herbert Larson and
Luanne Gay MacKaben and
one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be at
1:30 p.m., Saturday at the
Sandin-Fhurman Funeral Home
in Estherville and at 2 p.m. at
the Hunington Methodist church.
Burial will be in the Lake
Fremont cemetery beside
her husband.
