Arthur Smock, 17, Dies Monday at Hospital
Roodhouse — Arthur Lee Smock, 17, of Roodhouse died at Our Savior's Hospital in Jacksonville at 10:30 a.m. Monday morning. He had been a patient of the hospital since Sunday. He had been in failing health but his current illness was of brief duration.

He was born November 20, 1939 in Roodhouse, the son of Harry Everett and Virginia Barnard Smock.

He was a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church in Roodhouse and of the 1957 graduating class of the Roodhouse high school.

He is survived by his parents; five brothers and sisters, Sandra Sue, Patricia Ann, Judith Kay, Sharon Lea, Michael Duwayne and Marshall Eugene, all of the Roodhouse. One grandmother survives, Mrs. Hallie Smock of White Hall.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Emmanuel baptist church with the Rev. Woodrow Cain, assisted by the pastor, Rev. Ollie Phillips officiating. Burial will be made in Fernwood cemetery.
