Mrs. Lettie Meckley, 74, Succumbs Near Sticks
Sticks - Mrs. Lettie A. Meckley, 74, widow of Bertus S. Meckley, died yesterday at 4:20 a.m. at her home, Glen Rock RD 1, near here.
A lifelong resident of the area, Mrs. Meckley was a daughter of the late George Leander and Joanna Wherley Myers. She was a member of the Lutheran congregation of St. Jacob's Union (Stone) Church and the Sunday School.
Mrs. Meckley is survived by 13 children, Mrs. Laura Rohrbaugh and Mrs. Marguerite Nonemaker, both of Hanover RD 3; Raymond H. Meckley, 4233 Webster Drive, and Leroy G. Meckley, 212 Jefferson Avenue, both of York; Mrs. Kathryn Flickinger, Jefferson; Mrs. Arlene Wentz, Manchester, Md.; Marvin B. Meckley, York RD 8; Burnell E. Meckley, 205 Princess Street, and Roger A. Meckley, 163 Penn Street, both of Hanover; Mrs. Geraldine Klunk, 61 Main Street, McSherrystown; Mrs. Pearl Stagemyer, Spring Grove RD 1; Donald E. Meckley, Glen Rock RD 1, and Mrs. Jean M. Sprenkle, 303 North Main Street, Spring Grove.
Also surviving are 30 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Anna Mummert and Mrs. Cora Luckenbaugh, both of Spring Grove RD 2, and Lloyd Myers, 38 Center Street, Hanover.
