Viola was born Dec. 16, 1913, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Felske) Potts. As a child, she moved with her parents to the Milan area.
On June 21, 1932, she and Joseph P. Bornbach were united in marriage at St. John's Catholic Church, Wuerzburg. He died on Dec. 10, 1980.
After their marriage, the Bornbach's farmed on the home farm in the town of Day their entire life.
She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, The Parish Council of Catholic Women, a 50-year member of the Catholic Family Insurance Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
She is survived by five daughters and three sons, Marie (Alan) Esser of Marshfield, Patricia (Ben) Meyer of Wind Lake, Ronald (Susan) Bornbach of Rozellville, Joyce (Clifford) Rogney of Auburndale, Elaine (Roman) Joswiak of Stratford, Kenneth (Cindy) Bornbach of Machesney Park, Ill., Jean (Paul) Stueber of Stratford, and Matt Bornbach of Rockford, Ill. She is also survived by 34 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She is further survived by four sisters-in-law, Helen Potts of Wausau, Ann Potts of Milwaukee, Eunice Potts of Stratford, and Susan Folz of Marshfield; and a brother-in-law, the Rev. Raymond Bornbach of Marshfield.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Catherine, in infancy on July 24, 1943; a daughter, Eunice Bohman, on March 5, 1961; two great grandsons; twin granddaughters; a sister, Anita Rowe; five brothers, Clarence, Charles, Jr., Roland, Alfred and Robert Potts; and two daughters-in-law, Darleen Bornbach and Debi Bornbach.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rozellville. The Rev. Arthur Redmond will officiate and St. Andrew's Folk Choir will provide music. Burial will take place in St. Andrew's Parish Cemetery, Rozellville.
