FOR POLICE JUDGE
H. T. Harrison Will Give Every Litigant a Square Deal
H. T. Harrison, choice of the Republicans for police judge, needs no introduction to Carthage people who have lived here very long, but for the benefit of new-comers, a brief sketch is given herewith.
Mr. Harrison was born in St. Paul, Minn., in 1856 and came to Jasper county with his parents in 1868. He lived on a farm three years and attended Carthage schools from 1872 to 1875. He quit school on account of poor health and spent three years in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas. In 1879 he joined an engineering corps and worked on the Moffitt and Sergeant Railroad from Joplin to Neosho.
Afterward he acted as resident engineer on construction work for the Frisco, the Missouri Pacific, the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul and the Duluth, South shore and Atlantic until 1889. He then took a special law course at the University of Michigan. He was admitted to the Jasper County Bar in 1890. For the past 26 years he was maintained an office and practiced law in this city. He is fully qualified for the place and his platform is summed up in very few words: "A square deal for every litigant." You will make no mistake in casting your vote for H. T. Harrison for police judge.
